protection.. for women

It’s a shame that something like this would be considered necessary.  Even still, this may protect from being vaginally penetrated, but it doesn’t erase the fact that she was attacked.  That right there removes the safety and security she may have had in regards to her life.  Our society needs to teach DO NOT RAPE, not come up with devices that only hit the surface of what rape is.  I do commend whoever made this for their effort.  I’m more frustrated at the reason why this would be invented.  A woman shouldn’t have to consider these things to feel secure that she won’t be raped.  It sends flames of rage throughout my body.
One thing that continues to drive me insane about this subject is the continuous victim blaming:
“Look what you were wearing!”
“Why were you there?”
“You must’ve teased/led him on.”
“You shouldn’t have been drinking.”
“Why were you alone with him?”
“Did you even try to fight?”
“Were you clear about not wanting sex?”
What is wrong with our society?  Why should this be a fear in women’s minds?

Wouldn’t that even make it more likely for the victim to contract an STI if the rapist had one?
