Response to Stfu,Racists

Okay, I’m irritated that my second ask to stfu, racists was ignored. I’m making my response fucking public.

WHAT PART OF PAINTING YOUR FACE BECAUSE YOU’RE ~SOOOO INTERESTED~ IN DIA DE LOS MUERTOS ISN’T MIMICRY? That is not participation. Nowhere in the original ask did the person say they were invited to participate or were doing any sort of participation other than sitting in their room and painting their face. I’m not throwing any hate at the original asker.

If ONE Mexican person says they don’t like outsiders “participating” THAT SHOULD BE ENOUGH! You’ll always have some white-identifying person to come pat you on the back and say it’s okay. (NOT THAT THAT IS WHAT THE PERSON WHO SPOKE UP DID, BUT STFURACISTS EXCUSE IS THE OLDEST IN THE BOOK.) Also, if that’s the only person you found who thinks it’s offensive YOU DEFINITELY DIDN’T LOOK HARD ENOUGH. Before the holiday, my dashboard was blown up with people saying how it was offensive.

And this is probably the most dickish thing I’ve ever seen an anti-racism tumblr post:

as someone who is not religious, I don’t attach holiness to objects and inanimate things. I will admit to having a hard time seeing how any culture has claim over skeletons and skulls, which every human body has regardless of race (or, at least, a certain style of illustrating skeletons and skulls).

If that’s what you have to add to the conversation, you need to step the fuck aside and shut the fuck up, because YOU DON’T GET IT.

Also, all your apologies have been you saying you’re sorry for being misunderstood.

I end this post by saying I am not Mexican. I do not celebrate Dia de los Muertos. If any of you think I’m out of line, please let me know. I promise I won’t give you any half-assed apologies about how you misunderstood me.
